ATI launches Radeon X800 by Craig D at 15:30

Hot on the heels of the GeForce 6800 Launch, comes the Ati Radeon X800 launch.

From the looks of the benchmarks, it appears that this is even faster than the Geforce 6800, though not by much.

However, both cards will burn a rather large whole in anyones wallet, maybe as much as £400 for the XT/6800U. You should actually be able to buy a Radeon X800 Pro today or at least very shortly, if you so desire. The X800 XT is coming towards the end of May, about the same time as the 6800 Ultra.

	lol the prices of these gfx cards is pathetic, you can build a pc nowdays for that money with a monitor !

	It's all about bragging rights and public perception of speed, they don't expect to sell lots and lots of cards at that price, but they do expect to make the public think that their gfx cards are faster and or better than the competition. THis was when people do replace their cards, they may just buy their brand.
