Movies and TV on Your Xbox 360!  by Matthew I at 19:18

XBox
It's official. The Xbox 360 has become the first console to provide HD and standard definition movies and TV shows direct to you.

Pricing is competitive and will vary based on format, media type and whether it’s a new release movie or classic feature film. High-definition TV shows will be 240 Microsoft Points per episode and standard-definition TV shows will be 160 Microsoft Points per episode. New release movies in high definition will be 480 Microsoft Points, and standard-definition new release movies will be 320 Microsoft Points each. Classic feature films in high definition will be 360 Microsoft Points, and standard definition will be 240 Microsoft Points. After purchasing a high definition TV show or movie, gamers can download the standard definition version at no additional charge.

One more positive for Microsoft and the Xbox 360 in my opinion...

Whats the betting that they delete the file after 48 hours. Nice to have the choice but I wouldnt want to watch anything streamed through my 360. You would think that with this and the hd-dvd drive they would finally give the 360 hdmi, but thats a nope.

I doubt they will delete it as you're paying for it.. it'd be different if it was free and they removed it after 48hrs so you couldn't keep it but as you've spent money on it i'm sure they won't. It sounds good to me and gives people without pc's and the knowhow the ability to watch tv series that they like when they like.

Look at most of sonys stuff, they delete most of the stuff you buy, because you dont own the software you are just renting it. Look at the sony e reader they even delete the books you BUY on it after 4 weeks. Just because you pay for something mate doesnt mean jackshit to big companies
