Counter Strike Source Bump Mapped Models  by Scott H at 12:59

I was reading UKTerrorist (Dont Shoot Me). I noticed this little mod on their news.

The mod adds bump mapping and additional lighting efects to the player models, and as far as I can tell works pretty much the same as adding custom skins, the original thread came from the AnandTech forum here

There is a screenshot here that shows the effect. Although you probably dont notice too much until your running around.

The enclosed txt files states the following:

Bumpy Shiny Player Models for CS:Sorce By Kyle Burnnet

This mod adds a normal map with a specular channel to both the terrorist and counter-terrorist models in CS:S. Simply unzip the file to your unzip into your \Steam\SteamApps\*your account name* directory and run the game to see the changes.

Also your probably going to want a nice PC to run these, if your not getting decent fps as it is I wouldnt bother.

You can grab the small 2.3mb file here

Play with these models at your own risk, if you break your CS Source game it has nothing to do with us, if anyone does try it let us know if its worth the effort.

Something for Mani's 6800GT I think

Saw these somewhere else, look pretty nice.. depending on the fps hit im not sure why you would want to to make cs:s look better tbh, most people want it to look good not great, so they get a playable fps.

Aye purely for people who spend too much on PC Gear this one, cant see it making too much difference, other than the hit on fps

CS:S in general doesnt seem that bad to be fair, but as i understand it cheating is already a serious problem. For me playing CS for so many years really removes the spark from the new version of the game. Hense i have my fingers crossed for dod:s and the other mods.

Yes same here, im looking forward to DOD Source also.

I aint played much CS for 3 years anyway, so I dont mind a couple of hours of source a week.
