GeForce 8800 Launches  by Craig D at 23:48

PC
Just in case you didn't know, NVIDIA today launched its latest graphics card, the 8800. The NDA would appear to be over and reviews are starting to appear all over the bigger hardware sites. Suffice to say that it's very, very fast and uses a lot of power as well as cost a hell of a lot. Here's a selection.

Ok, so that thing clearly rocks as we all suspected, bring it on ATI, let's have a real performance/price war!! (I want a new card soon and I'm not paying 500 quid)

I will be waiting for the ATI card . Me thinks they will us this production lag to deliver a very fast & efficient card at a good price . This is going to be G70/71 V's R580 all over again & lets face it ATI should have the edge on several points: Memory Bus , Unified Shaders & image quality. I will go to which ever vendor gives me the best bang for my £££.

One other point I should have mentioned is how disappointing the 8800 GTS performance is ... GTX is much better value for money when one considers it looks like a true alternative to Dual DX9 card configs .

I guess these gfx cards also render the XBOX360 and PS3 obsolete too, seeing as XBOX360 is only dx9.0c compliant.

360 can do dx10 as well, it's not all that different from dx9.

that's the ps3 spit, the 360 has a custom ATI gfx solution that's nothing like ANY current pc kit.

I'm sure I read somewhere that XBOX360 was only dx9c and not dx10.
