Nvidia SLI Performance  by James W at 12:21

Those of you that have read about Nvidia's SLI setup will probably be interested to see some performance info the guys at HardOCP have snagged. You can check out how well the 6600GT, 6800GT and 6800 Ultra run in SLI here. While you dont get double the performance for your two graphics card its still a nice boost for those with the money. Its also a nice option for those with SLI compatible cards to buy a second card when the prices come down for a nice boost for future games.

I guess it's fine for those who simply must have the best, too much money for the rest of us.

i dunno, i quite like the idea of having one card now and getting a second when they get down to at least half price. The boost would probably be good and by the time they are that price you would probably appreciate the fps boost on new games.

I was looking at CS:S benchmarks the other day and GF6800s in PCIe slots performed slightly worse than those in normal AGP slots. Any reason?

The PCIe ones are bridged back to agp, this will add tiny overhead.
