Hideo Kojima Talks About Metal Gear Solid 4  by James B at 22:47

Playstation
Gamespot have some coverage from TGS 2006 that focuses on Hideo Kojima's Metal Gear Solid 4 presentation. The article covers some of the new information he revealed, including information on the camo-suit seen in the trailer and the various locations the game will take place in. No news yet on an estimated release date though.

"Up until now in the MGS series, your body was completely hidden [in places like lockers and desks]. But in MGS4, you'll be hiding in a new way. In previous MGS games, you would've hid behind pillars so that enemies couldn't see you. But in MGS4, you'd be standing in front of the pillars and using the octo-cam to blend into it."

Don't like the sound of this camo-suit tbh. MGS was always a stealth game and this seems to gimmicky and sci-fi.

gimmicky and sci-fi? After -in MSG2 alone- a walking nuclear rail gun, a cyborg ninja, cloneing, covert internet domination, a gunsligner possesed by his new arm, and whatever the hell Vamp is actually meant to be, and you have isues with a Camo Suit?
I think this franchise went off the end of silly a long time ago, but that dosn't make it none the less fun.
'Silly' stopped being applicable to MSG a long while back.

None of those features you mentioned changed the real way the game was played. At it's core it remained about hiding away from sight and silently achieving objectives.

Have you watched the TGS trailer? The camo-suit looks frankly, stupid and yes, gimmicky.

I thought he stood out like a sore thumb and yet the soldiers walked right by.

What I dont understand is how he could crawl up that hill between two gun battles and be able to throw a grenade and shoot the others with a pistol totally unnoticed. Thats stupid if you ask me.
