A while back somebody in our forums alerted us to a tech demo game called Penumbra. The game was very short, merely showing off the possiblity of using a high level of physics to immerse you in a horror game (doors must be barricaded to keep out monsters, drawers have to be dragged open with the mouse). I played through it and found it a very creepy and unsettling experience.

Today Frictional Games have announced that a full version of this game is in the works entitled Penumbra - Overture. Frictional Games is looking for a publisher and plan to release Penumbra - Overture sometime in 2007.
