nVidia Claims 3DMark05 Record  by Neil W at 15:59

GeForce 6800 Ultra Logo
Just as Futuremark's non-disclosure agreement expired, nVidia announced that its SLI setup has achieved the highest score yet using the, brand new 3DMark05 PC performance benchmark.

According to nVidia, in benchmark tests performed by the graphics giant itself, using 3dMark05, the GeForce 6800 Ultra SLI achieved an industry high-score of 7229. Although its cost may put it out of the reach of most gamers, nVidia has grabbed the opportunity to tout its SLI as the best option for gamers. The timing definitely works and as things stand now, that SLI score is not likely to be matched by a certain Canadian rival.

Seems nVidia's record has been broken already, by one heavily overclocked X800. To be fair the SLI'd nVidia cards are at default clock but amusing all the same
