Gears of War Coming November 17th  by Craig D at 16:22

PC
Microsoft today announced the official UK release date of Epic's upcoming shooter, Gears of War. And as the title suggest, that date is November 17th. Xbox 360 chart Christmas number 1?

One of the most anticipated next-generation console titles of 2006 and the critic's choice winner for the E3 2006 Best Console Game, "Gears of War" will explode onto store shelves with both a standard and limited collector's edition. The limited edition will offer an even deeper look into the graphically stunning and frightening world of "Gears of War," providing an official "Destroyed Beauty" art book and a bonus DVD featuring an inside look at the making of the game — all enclosed in a highly collectible metal box.

"'Gears of War' represents the emergence of a thrilling new franchise for Xbox 360 and is the must-have game of 2006," said Shane Kim, general manager of Microsoft Game Studios. "Combining the best in innovative gameplay, next-generation graphics and interactive storytelling, Epic has harnessed the extraordinary power of Xbox 360 to create an extremely powerful and immersive entertainment experience."

"Our vision is to deliver a one-two punch of cinematic action paired with a thrilling and compelling interactive experience," said Cliff Bleszinski, lead designer at Epic. "With 'Gears of War' we've created a title that will place gamers directly in the shadows of a ravaged world, surrounded by the beautiful remnants of a destroyed city and the horrific dangers that hide in the rubble."

Yes but it is also a lcd, thus you have the downfalls on that, and it aint just the res that makes the plasma there is far far more to it than that. Or all 720p plasma's would be the same

Plasma sux - the burn in is incredible , we have loads of them at our office ( most meeting rooms ) Sony's & Pioneer's & some of them are looking pretty sad after only a year or so . I must admit that they are on for most of the day but then again the buggers are supposed to be good for 60,000 hrs! Give me OLED lol

well you have to look after them spit, the first 100 hours are when they suffer from screenburn, and if you dont leave the same channel on for 4 days running then you wont have a problem. I use my plasma a good 12 hours a day and have suffered NO screenburn. The earlier plasmas suffered from these issues but the latest ones really not a issue, plus why use sony over hyped over priced SHIT. As i have said before if you just want to use it as a extended desktop then a lcd is needed, but otherwise a plasma blows lcd away in EVERY way. The colour, the movement, the detail, the size everything on a pioneer blows away a lcd. Also it could be that you havent set them up, they always come with way way too high a brightness and gamma that you have to tone down. Also as far as i am aware sony dont make a plasma only lcds and they are pieces of shit.

Also if say the screen is just a bright white, then that will kill the screen but a plasma will still last far longer than a crt would under those conditions.

I was on about the uk, they did make plasmas but as far as i am aware dont anymore in the uk they are concentrating on lcds.
Eitherway spit if you look after your plasma's and screens they will outlast a crt.

LOL you're really funny, I have no idea where we source or Plasmas from dude I just use them for video conferencing & presenting to clients. There is a chance we source our goods from the US as we are a US company . Quite a large one ... like $90 Billion turnover per annum large.

Err Sony only just left the plasma market so there is a high chance we sourced them here but as I said it would not surprise me if the goods where sourced in the US I know we source a lot of our kit from there political influence reciprocal business, minimum spend commitments to our vendors, the weak dollar etc. etc.

Well if you have had em over a year then who knows, i still wouldnt touch a sony screen if you paid me though. But seriously next time u get a new one m8 check the gamma and brightness etc as they kill it, and are always WAY too high when they get delivered as most shops just ramp up the brightness and colours to try and sell them. Also just becarefull for the first 100 hours of use, after that you should be cool. I pld graw for 12 hours a day for like 3 or 4 days solid and not one trace of screenburn. Fancy getting me the new 6k pioneer plasma spit ?
