X3 and X2 now available on Steam  by James B at 16:43

steam X3: Reunion and its predecessor X2: The Threat are available for purchase and download on Steam, for $19.95 and $14.95 respectively. In addition, they games will have a 10% discount if purchased in their first week of release.

We reviewed X3 some time ago and were very impressed by it.

What engine does X3 use? I wasn't aware that Steam also done non Source games too...

Well, and friends etc. What I mean is it's not tied to any engine.

I can see Steam taking over gaming distrbution, pitty you have to have a net connection [yes i know i have one, but i know ppl that dont]

That's good. I don't seem to have any issues with steam any more so the more games the better. There's a good and bad side of programs like steam though... If more developers done it, there will be far more piss poor attempts at games.

I used to think cutting the publisher out was a good thing... but it can be pretty bad too

The fact that even if you buy a steam game in a shop you have to have a i net connection to play it is shocking and i cant believe they can get away with it. So i hope steam dies a horrible death. .

been meaning to buy this for a while now as a friend of mine has it and it looks a blast. getting it on steam for such a bargin price gives me an excuse to get it now!
