MMORPG Licenses H-L 2 Engine  by Neil W at 17:00

Twilight War, a game described as a 'Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game' (MMORPG), with an integrated FPS style combat system, has licensed Valve's Half-Life 2 engine.

In a joint announcement, Valve and Smiling Gator Productions have patted each others backs, claiming that the engine is ,One of the gaming world's premier technologies... and praising the engine's ...combat system, physics, and advanced AI.

Twilight War - After the Fall, now joins Troika Games' Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines and an, as yet, untitled project from Arkane Studios.

The engine's potential is undeniable, but how exactly it can be utilised in a game which claims to combine FPS gameplay with RPG depth remains to be seen.

With all the legal shenanigans going on between Valve and Vivendi, is anyone worried that the Source engine is going to take a while to see daylight?
