Core 2 Duo Reviews Arive  by Craig D at 09:43

PC
Those in the market for a new CPU in the next few months will be interested in the the lrage number of review for Intel's new CPUs that have all tipped up today. Core 2 Duo CPUs or Conroe as they have been known will launch at the end of this month.

They seem to outperform Athlon 64 cpu's across the board at the minute while being quite a bit cheaper, until AMD cut prices that is. The CPU price/peformance war is well and truly back on and that should be good for consumers.

Here's a few reviews to get you started; Hothardware, Hard|OCP and Anandtech

It is a no brainer until AMD cut prices too, it's good intel are back in the game as it makes things cheaper/faster for us, nothing like competition.

The 2.4GHz E6600 turned out to be quite an overclocker in our tests. Even though it was hard-locked at a 9 multiplier it reached an amazing 4GHz in the overclocking tests. That represents a 67% overclock.

I'm gonna get me a 6600 me thinks

Mani your right about the AMD responce but their CPU's just dont have the head room & for AGP merchants like myself there are Asus Mobos which take AGP & DDR1 ( though I would go DDR2 any way ) so its not even a U/G nightmare.

Why not register and have your say?
