Nintendo Wii news round-up  by James B at 13:57

Nintendo
Wii Lots of little pieces of Wii news are floating around recently, so here's a nifty little round-up for you.

Shopto.net are taking pre-orders for the Wii console, with prices of £149.99 (including tax). While there's been no official word from Nintendo on the RRP, this is the sort of figure everyone has been expecting. The site also has the release date down as 15/10/2006.

Sports Illustrated Kids however, recently ran an article on the Wii and they touted November 6th as the release date. No official word yet, but late October/early November seems a safe bet.

Finally, Ubisoft have confirmed that they are re-working aspects of the controls of their launch-title FPS Red Steel. This followed some criticism post-E3 that sword-fighting was not fully interactive, and merely responding to certain player motions with pre-set sword swings. There's been no word on what exactly is being re-worked, but it would be reasonable to assume they're facing pressure from Nintendo to make the game more wii-remote interactive.

£150 is a yummy price It won't change the world, but I have a feeling there's going to be some fun times with this console.

They'll probably be cheaper then the 360 ones. I don't see Nintendo losing that much money from the hardware in the Wii..

Sorry, bit late to this party but: Nintendo president vows cheap games . So hopefully they really will be less than 360 games!
