ATI confirms that the Wii is more powerful than we think  by James B at 14:02

Wii GameDaily have a very interesting article up on the GPU power of the Wii. At E3 they met up with ATI exec John Swinimer, who confirmed that the graphics seen so far were just the tip of the iceberg. Apparently the Wii will be at least twice as powerful as the GameCube was.

Good news indeed as it's always nice to have graphics and playability if possible.

GameCube was already producing pretty amazing games by the end of its lifespan - ResiEvil4, Metroid, the new Zelda - all great looking games so if the Wii is twice as powerful we should be in for a treat when combined with the controller.

Yeah. Resi4 is still one of the best looking games around. I think it looks better then HL2 and games like FEAR. It's all down to the style they use with the hardware they have... Resi4 done that so well.

Res evil 4 does look very good, but it isnt close to the likes of fear or hl2.

Well strangely Resi4 doesn't look old, whereas HL2 engine looks dated whenever i load it now

I'd actually be quite interested to see how the controller could be used for a point and click story based game actually, like Monkey Island
