You CANNOT sell a hi definition gaming machine without a hdmi socket, it goes against everything the ps3 is trying to be, you are complete ****ing idiots sony.

That isnt the point grah, the ps3 is being billed as a hi definition machine, now in order for something to be said to be hi def ready in the uk it needs to have a hdmi socket, the ps3 doesnt thus its a complete **** up.

makes no diff to me i have no intention of ever wasting money on an hdtv until they come down to the price of a normal tv (in about 10 years then). ill probably buy the full version tho since im gonna buy 2 extra ps3's to sell on ebay anyway

Yes but the entire point of these consoles is that they are hi def, so the fact they dont come with the standard hi definition cable is a piss take, most people who buy a ps3 will have a hi def screen to go with it.

'most people who buy a ps3 will have a hi def screen to go with it.'

very unlikely imo, since the majority of gamers are 16-25, and just dont have that kind of money to waste on an overpriced tv, and cheers

Then they dont have the money to waste on a 425 quid console
The next gen consoles are being billed as hi def gaming machines and that is why the majority of people will buy one, and as it is meant to come with a next generation hi definition dvd drive, yet not have a hdmi output. Its a complete cock up m8, even if you dont want one you have to admit the fact that they wont come with one is a piss take.

gotta disagree, ppl will buy it cos its new, and has pretty graphics, and will have sequels to game series they have played for years, not because of the hi def stuff. i couldnt give a shit about the blu ray drive or hdmi, as long as it plays games thats all i want it for it is a bit highly priced tho but thats only cos of the blu ray player

Will see what the people of this site think, i think most of the ones who post will be intrested in it because its hi def, not only because of that but that will be a large part of it. Although it has to be said i think most people on this site wont want a ps3 anymore due to all the cock ups and pricing. Eitherway you cant ship a hi definition console without it even being able to have a hdmi socket, its a piss take.

well end of the day, the ppl who want it for hi def bollox obviously dont mind spending alot of money on overpriced equipment, so paying a bit extra for the hdmi wont really matter to them, for the mainstream consumer who couldnt give a shit about hdtv like myself, the cheaper option will do fine, altho ill probably buy the more expensive one anyway gotta admit 360 is looking good atm but theres still not a single game i wanna play on it, and ive not liked nintendo since the snes days, so ill probably stick with the ps3 because all the game series i like to play r on it

Actually soon it wont be that big a price difference and most tvs will be hi def, and the quality difference will be HUGE think of the difference between vhs and dvd.
