Is the future nVidia's?  by Craig D at 13:46

If any of you follow the graphics card industry as I do, you may find this article at the inquirer interesting. A lot of it is simply speculation, but there are some valid points.
SLI alone will be enough to make Nvidia own every benchmark under the sun by simply abusive margins. The early benchmarks indicate that it really is everything Nvidia said it would be. ATI's response? Well, nothing at first, I think it realises that HL2 benchmarks won't cut it this time.

What is SLI again? That where you run two cards at once like the old Voodoo?

you'd have to be very naive to think ATi wont develop something similar

You would have thought nVidia would try and patent it.

The essence of the article is that OEMs, who buy most of the worlds gfx cards, will much prefer nVidia more extensive feature set. And that Ati doesn't compare very well in this most lucrative sector right now.

But if by OEM you're looking at companies like Tiny, are they really going to take care what they put inside? You never see a TV ad telling you what gfx card is in the box.
