Battlefield 2 Officially Announced by Digital Illusions CE  by Craig D at 02:10

Digital Illusions CE Battlefield 2 will be a different product from Battlefield: Modern Combat, the PlayStation 2 title announced last week. However, both games will feature the same three superpowers--China, the United States, and the newly formed Middle Eastern Coalition. Each power will have its own set of modern weapons and vehicles. The American arsenal will include the M4 assault rifle with the M203 grenade launcher, the Abrams tank, the Apache helicopter, and the Humvee.

According to DICE, Battlefield 2 will be released in spring 2005.

I have mixed feelings about this to be honest, it's no secret I like Battlefield 1942 rather a lot, and equally, dislike Battlefield Vietnam. Lets just hope it takes after the former and not the latter.

Im sure the people over at Desert Combat will be happy. Ah then again its EA isnt it, so no surprise there.

I never got into the Battlefield theme, this is what happens when you tie yourself to one game i suppose :/

You really should try bf1942, it didn't win Game of The Year for nothing.

BF1942 is ace but i stoped playing when i fubard my old pc
since then iv eonly played ET CoD and a few mp demos ... joint ops....etc...
BF2 should be quite good and hopefully they will have fixed the weapon handeling to be more ... REALISTIC.... i.e. you acualy aim down the lenght of the gun instead of seeing a little cross where you would be aiming :/. if they fix that in BF2 ill be playing it almost as much as CoD.

CoD has got to be the best weapon handeling in a game i have seen...
although the p38 was more used than the luger
