Doom 3 Team Fortress  by Shane L at 08:53

PC
The game is not released in the UK until Friday but already modders are hard at work.
Breaking news from Sickness.Inc as doom3 went Gold they decided to make the birth of a new multiplayer mod for it to break the 4 player limit on the game as played right out of the box. Nothing less than the well known Team Fortress mod played in various games that we know so far.The level design is already underway for this modification with talented and experienced mappers, and word has it that the best gameplay parts of team fortress from Quake 3 will be integrated into the team fortress Doom3. The integration of thiese similar points of gameplay, between the Quake3 version of this mod and the Doom3 version, is because its meant to be played the way the community liked it with not many innovations or changes.Sickness.Inc are still recruiting volounteers with the necessary time, skills and talent in the field. From their feedback we can see they are gathering a pretty solid core for their team as we speak and the work is already underway on a good track. The response from the doom3 and quake3 community on this modification was remarkable and even the original creators of team fortress are interested in assisting.

It's got to be good that modders with a proper track record are going to be making this. I've seen so many 'upstarts' who reckon they're going to make Far Cry mods and have 3d models of guns and shit - but I'm really skeptical about ever seeing any product.

But I'm talking sheer number of wannabe modders who reckoned they were going to do Far Cry mods - it was (and still is) nuts compared to the actual number that'll come out. I've not seen that response for a long time.
