4 GPU's are better than 2!  by Liam S at 22:35

PC
Sounds pretty obvious, but Toms Hardware want this to become a reality sooner rather than later. By combining 2 ASUS dual GPU 7800GT's in SLI they unearthed some serious potential.

The game F.E.A.R. benefited the most from Quad SLI. The two Dual cards reached 92 FPS, while the two 7800 GTs together only managed 47 FPS. However, the image was corrupted in the lower third of the screen.

So not all plane sailing but if they can get support from Nvidia and ASUS I'm sure this sort of setup will start to become the next high end setup.

How long before we get dual/quad core gpu's? Or will they just keep adding pipelines?

Rather a complicated subject but I think bandwidth and pipelines are far more benefial to performance than raw processing power.
