Quake 4 Beta Patch  by Craig D at 11:28

PC
There's a new beta patch for iD and Raven's Quake 4 available, lifting the shooter to version 1.05 on Windows, 1.06 on Linux. As is becoming more common place, this update adds performance optimisations for dual core CPU's or indeed those with HyperThreading.

performance gains in QUAKE 4 of anywhere from 25% - 87% depending on processor type

Those are huge performance increases from a patch.

Makes you wonder where all this performance magically came from.

I can't tell no difference in quality or performance apart from both cores running at 100% after this patch.

To all: remember to open the command console in game and enter the command "r_useSMP 1" without quotes to enable this patch.
