Following on from last weeks wild speculation regarding an old Sony patent and it's potential to stop PS3 games being used on any other machine than the one it was first used on, Sony had the following to say.

I would like to clarify that this is false speculation and that PlayStation 3 software will not be copy protected to a single machine but will be playable on any PlayStation 3 console
