Tech News Round Up  by Craig D at 16:06

PC
Today has to be the slowest gaming news day for months, so here's some tech news that at least related to gaming;

FiringSquad have a high end graphics shootout using Quake IV as the benchmark.

For the geeks amongst us, [H]ard|OCP have a play with a water cooled BFG 7800GT graphics card.

And from a few days ago Anandtech take a look at GPU peformance in F.E.A.R.

True but in the top end range ATI also cost more too... only had a very quick look but its almost £100 more, probably due to it only just being released and the nvidia card it only just beats has been out for 6months (?).

it's a huge step for ati tho, they always fall short with ogl, the report even said there was space for improvement. and as for only just beats, with high/ultra wuality it beats it by some way.

Its the driver that has improved ogl in particular, not the card.

in a way yes, but the driver doesn't affect other ati cards. anyway i'm lookingforward to seeing what these cards can really do.

Tiz a nice card, I wonder how far off the next nVidia card is.. I'm sure they'll be keen to take the top spot back.
