Sega's New Gaming Machine is the Mega Drive ?  by Shane L at 12:18

I got all nostalgic when I found this little snippet of news, bearing in mind Sonic The Hedgehog was 13 years old a couple of weeks ago aswell.

Now don't get too excited by this news ... even though it does qualify as new games hardware coming from Sega, it is just the Megadrive all over again in limited form. The Megadrive Play TV, as it is called, is akin to those Namco arcade sticks that came out a while ago sporting a selection of classic games. Sega's version comes in two parts, with a mini version of the Megadrive that plugs into your TV and a controller. The unit is due for release in Japan in September with 6 games, including Flicky, Golden Axe, Kid Chameleon, King of Monsters, Puyo-Puyo, and Sonic the Hedgehog. Pre-orders are already being taken by importers in the U.S. for around US$60. An official release in the U.S. and Europe is planned, although they may include a different selection of games.

Thanks to Spong for the news
