Patches and more media  by James W at 11:56

Joint Operations Join Operations: Typhoon Rising sees its first retail patch. Shacknews reports that the update addresses several known issues, including connectivity problems experienced by some people. A Stand Alone Server option is also mentioned and Remote Access Tools for managing servers. The patch is available from fileshack and 3dgamers.

Also eurogamers.net reports that EA have released GoldenEye: Rogue Agent E3 trailer.

Norton Antivirus uses might be interested in checking out some leaked screenshots from the 2005 addition. You can view them over at neowin.net.

** Update **
Two nice high-res screenshots of Half-Life2 are up at halflife.ru. I dont think they are really jaw dropping but the first one certainly has an impressive level of detail.

Eurogamer.net have spotted a sale on GameCubes at the retailer, Index. The drop from £79.99 to £39.99 shows how much the GC is struggling against the Xbox and PS2, but even still at that price it really is a bargin.
While it seems unlikely that the Index sale precipitates a drop of that magnitude in the Cube's official price later this year, a Nintendo spokesperson was keen to emphasise that Index has shown no signs of dropping the Cube from its range.

"Index is currently running a big promotion on all its products, of which GameCube is one, offering up to 50 per cent discount," the company explained in an statement. "As far as we are aware, Index will continue to trade with Nintendo at certain times of the year."

So does this mena the FX out performs the ATI on Farcry, or does it bring it up to par?

Well when we say PS3 support we are talking graphics quality, so in that respect it would out perform the x800. While PS3 gives loads of technical improvements there isnt really a huge difference. It all comes down to the minimum FPS really, as long as the nvidia card gets over a level of FPS that we would consider smooth then having PS3 support would mean you would be getting a better experience than ATI users.

Decided to skip the PS3 news as it was more involved than I could be bothered to talk about in our news

That first screenshot of hl2 doesn't look like a screenshot. I could be wrong, but it looks like concept art.

well it's obviously not an 'in game' screenie. Look at the size and dimensions of it.

1200px high and cropped...don't see why it couldn't be an in-gamer.

It's an odd screenshot, if it is, I grant you. The top tower parts looks like art, but the housey things at the bottom look very similar to real screenies I've seen.
