Geforce 7800 Pricing Revealed  by Shane L at 08:37

PC
Taking a quick break from Battlefield 2, for a minute at least. The Inquirer has details on how much the latest graphic's card from Nvidia is going to cost you, I do hope you are sat down at this point. That or filling out the form for your latest next bank loan.

Wednesday OcUk will have three versions of the 7800GTX cards clocked and priced differently. You will be able to buy Leadtek card for around £350 +VAT, those cards are clocked at default 430/1200 MHz. The Second Nvidia pet under the name of XFX will clock at 450 MHz core and 1250 MHz memory and will come for £390 +VAT while the fastest BFG will clock at quite high 460 MHz core and 1300 MHz memory but will cost you £425 +VAT. For our US and EU reader's Euro 350 + 17.5 percent of VAT – Value added tax ends up at £411 or should we say €614 in Euro land or $752 in US. You can do the conversion for the other cards here. The £425 + VAT will get to amazingly expensive Euro 499 or should we say €750 or incredible $913 US for a single card.

One plus point I suppose is hopefully the price of the 6800 and 6600 will tumble.

kma Shane i doubt very much we'll see the 6800 'tumble' in price. Remember how long the ATI 9800 held it price. I'd like to see some benches of the 7800 against two SLI'd 6800s.

Seems to be quite small increments in speed for the amount you pay.

Considering they are the same chip and you can just clock them to the higher speeds, yes

Depends how good the yeilds are really, if they produce a lot of good chips then they'll clock a few down for the budget cards and thats when you get good o/cers.
