BF2 Demo, Exclusive to GameSpot?  by Craig D at 09:24

PC
Battlefield 2 Logo This post on BFNation points out a comments made by EA's Scott Evans in an E3 interview, saying the the Battlefield 2 demo would have at least some period of exclusivity on GameSpot's GameCenter service. Thanks Bluesnews

It seems you'll also be able to snag the demo download by XFire P2P, but whether or not this will be before of after GameSpot's exclusivity period is not clear.

I have to be honest and speak my mind as ever, exclusive demo releases are totally and utterly stupid, they do nothing but annoy the hell out of gamers, way to go EA.

Although they've got the "exclusive", don't torrents tend to pop-up pretty quick though?

I would hope that the exclusivity period was extremely short.

And then the news that Gamespots gamecenter will indeed the the exclusive BF2 download location for a 24hr period.

It's cash and registration free though, so it's not so bad.

No craig, paying subscribers will get a faster server tis all, the exclusivity will be there for free aswell.

Seems that those who paid $7 for a membership will only benefit from faster downloads, as non members can still download it as well for free. Read this page for general information about the demo and the exclusive. Lastly, you may want to bookmark this page as it looks to be the place where the demo will be released

Err, Yes Craig, you'll only be able to download it from gamespot for a 24hr period (until someone ups it on a totrrent anyway)

That fact that you don;t need to rrgister is good and probably negates most people's anger, but it's still exculsive!
