Prey again in the news this time in the shape of a preview over on Gamespy. Using the Doom 3 engine this game will appeal to a lot of of FPS fans out there.

When Prey was first announced years ago, a lot of hype was made about its "portal" technology. Whatever that meant, the demo we saw did make some great uses of portal technology. Enemies spawned in through them, but they were more than mere teleporters that we've seen since Quake 1 and before. The portals also served as gateways to various parts of the game world, with creatures able to run back and forth between them, with gravity and perspective sometimes switching drastically from one side to another.
