1mb Connection for under £15 a month  by Shane L at 08:49

Yes you do read that correctly, Freedom2Surf offers high-speed access for under £15.

There is a catch or two but nothing too drastic.
There is a fairly hefty set-up fee of £79.99 for modem and installation and a one gigabyte monthly download allowance.
Users wishing to buy more traffic allowance can buy an extra 1GB for £2.99, for download addicts, Freedom2Surf is offering another 1 megabit package - Freedom2Surf Connect - which offers users four gigabytes more monthly downloads for a price of £19.99.
Even with the upfront fee of 80 quid I would think this service would be ideal for gamers.

i would think the point of having 1mb would be for downloading? dont think 2gb is enough tbh, ive downloaded that amount in my first week on 512. i get 15-20 ping in cs on 512 too...

Sounds like a great deal for people that dont use the internet very heavily, web pages and small downloads. I think gamers are likely to be the same people that download more heavily, ie those demos/videos/etc all add up. The 4gig limit will probably be okay for some people. I might try logging my b/w usage for a month and see if a cap would effect me as I really have no idea how much b/w I use a month

For reference, NTL get shirty if you use more than 1GB a day. Giving you an efffective bandiwth limit of 30GB a month.

As you can tell i know nothing of b/w and dl limits sct but now mani has put it into perspective 1gb a month would be useless for downloads but as jim said good for light usage.

How 'shirty' do NTL get? Do they call you up and ask you to kindly stop? Or do you get a funny letter?
