I have heard on the grapevine that there is a protest aganist Sony in Golden Square in London tomorrow (Wednesday 6th July) at 1pm.

It has been organised to give support to thise companies that Sony have taken to court for selling imported PSP's, but the deal is not only is Sony bullying these small independent companies, but all these importers are doing is supplying a product which should have been released months ago by Sony.

Please come and stick up for the little guy?

If I didnt have other commitments and London was local I would

Unfortunately London is a 4 hour drive so no chance there, good luck with it though.

PSP's are the little handheld things?
And what do you mean? Company X is importing them from another country and selling them through their stores because it hasn't been officially released in the UK yet?

Last I heard when someone takes someone else to court that's because there has been a possible breach of law somewhere.
So what law was broken? Why are Sony taking them to court? There has to be a legal reason.

Or is it just the Sony/EA/Manchester United thing? Hate them because... because we're.. meant to..?

Ok, ok. Man U do certainly suck.

There are legal reasons why the PSP hasn't yet been laucnhed in the UK I believe, iI think it's something to do with a tardemark on the product title 'PSP', a British software company owns it for one of it's products. From what I remember this isn't the only issue, It's not just a case of Sony not beig arsed about shipping it's unit in Europe.

Having PSP's being used and bought in the UK may cause sony further legal hassles, and this is not doubt why there are trying to stop their import.

/me hugs my Shiney PSP.

The PSP is delayed in europe cause of a shortage of LCD screens, so they say,

i reckon its to do with the fact that the 1.0 (Jap) ,1.50(USA) firmware has already been hacked to allow Homebrew stuff ,and sony do not like this, and +the games have already been ripped and theres a UMD loader coming out soon, so there trying to make the european version harder to crack, there also making new games so ya have to update your firmware to play them.

lol

dixons is selling them in town

being that ive done business law i thought i might beable to see some ilegal activity.. but the only one i can think of is a posaible breach of contract between these small companies and Sony plc... this could be something stupid like an agreed term that prohibits the exportation of the PSP from a country other than that it was sold in/to (usually is in the product manual or possaibly something in the supplyers contract..)
