My fave 5 films? Difficult. Subject to change, depending on mood. I've selected 5 films I could watch again and again without any massive time lapse. Otherwise I might have selected films like Leon and Donnie Darko - but there's butt-all chance of me watching those films less than 6 months apart. 1) Ghostbusters 2) Fellowship Of The Ring 3) Terminator 4) SW Trilogy (don't make me choose, but you can keep ROTJ if you have to) 5) Austin Powers, International Man of Mystery

Sorry to bump this up - but hey i'm new to site and am just going thru so i dont care LOL My 5 are in no Order: Matrix (all 3 of them) Shawshank redemption (anyone who says otherwise is just wrong) Memento (very weird and hard to follow film you just have to watch over and over) Lord of the rings (trilogy) Terminator 1&2 (not 3, i enjoyed it but does not deserve to be in the top 5) However if you want an actual list of the top 10 best ever sci-fi films(according to scientists because they have nothing else to do), then follow this: Top 10 Films Sci Fi

It is amazing how many people say they didnt like 2 & 3, whereas i thought they were amazing, and very few other films out there have had the impact those 2 had......but you do need to know a little about sudism, buddism, christianity and it helps if you have ever read simulation and simulcra (The desert of the real, you know the book it is all based on - the book at the very beginning of Matrix1)
As their are millions of references of religion (for example - Matrix 3, very beginning the train station is called Mobil station, anagram of Limbo, the state between heaven and hell, the train man was obviously the ferry man, and the train track itself was the river styx, then there's seraph, highest order of angels (or wingless as he was called) OMG i could go on for ages)
HOWEVER i realise this is NOT a matrix forum, i just felt like defending it a little as i think their ace...and i will stop this now.
Sorry if i waffled, but i'm half cooked from last night and bored in work....so this kept me entertained for at least 5 mins.

Star Wars DVDs are brilliant, especially "A New Hope", which is frikkin' amazing looking. I doubt it looked this good in the cinema upon first release in '77.
