new to the site and gaming in general, me and a friend started gameslayers.com about 8 weeks ago, I'm wondering if you could let me know what tool you are using to track the teams etc (we're using VWar at present - and it's not the best tool in the world).

Hi, and welcome.
We don't use any pre-written tools or components, this site is entirely hand written. Indeed, most of it is only about half finished.
I assume your'e using phpnuke? It might be easy to get a site up and running quickly with it, but I honestly have yet to see a good site made using it. Mt fellow admin, Jimbo, knows php somewhat better than I do, he may be able to help you, however, he is away for a few days.
I used to have a handle on life, but it broke.

no, we're using ibf, fair enough and considering it's all hand written, it's got to be said, well fcuking done! The site's got a nice feel to it, and easy to use, so congratulations.

ibf = invision ?
Ive used VWar in the past, it aint too bad but can take a lot of effort to customise it to your needs.
Oh just looked at your site, see your using ocportal, not tried that one.

oh my fcukin god, i was PMSL at that comment, people in work were wondering what the hell i was laffin at. Hmm....i have the hiccups now Yeah to be honest i wouldnt recommend oc portal....its not bad, but its not great either. yes ipb is invision power boards.....i like those boards and would recommend them to anyone just starting out and has no (or little) PHP knowledge as they are so easy to customise. Hopefully over time we may start tweaking/customising the site once we have a greater knowledge of PHP and MySQL. Oh and if you havent noticed i'm the friend Rich speaks of
