Dance was originally developed from rituals of early man until it eventually became an art form. Dance was used to represent nature in its truest essence. Man used dance to narrate either the mating rituals or the hunt, it is even used to tell of events. Some dances were used to bring good fortune, some to ward off evil spiritsand demons. Nowadays dance is mainly a performance art. It has been divided into different forms and categories, most of which had ethnic or native origins.
