Very nice but it's not going to help you get laid

I would have gone the pentium route as well. I've got a XP2800+ with a Rad 9800pro and I find the CPU holds me back.

guys my new comp is coming in this afternoon... now they aint put XP on it as i got it here at home and i aint gonna pay 40 quid for them installing it for me.

But i don't know how to make partitions... like 1 of 20 GB and 2 of 10 is what i'd like i think

But how do i do that? Just turn PC on and make it go to c: and then fdisk and follow the instructions? or should i install windows? or can i do it from windows cd?

Nope, not correct.

Widows setup will give you a menu which is one some ways similar to fdisk, it will ask you to use the whole disk, or create partitions, simply do the latter.

You can't get to a c: prompt from XP setup unless there is a version of XP already installed and youre attempting to repair it.

fdisk is a console utility, and as I explained, windows setup does not have a console unless it's in repair mode.

Nope, you can't.

Not without an old dos based boot disk with fdisk on it anyway.

These days all OS's come with partitioning utilities built into the setup program that will let you do just about anythign fdisk can.

Your other option is to temporarily stick it in a PC with as a slave and use fdisk or windows disk manager on it.

Should have bought a 2600+ for half the price and just clocked to 3000+ speeds. Wouldn't have been a huge increase in temperatures, and would have saved you loads.
