The point is, i could play the games on a coxal cable, just like X360 pays on standard TVs. but nintendo added the feature anyway

if companies dont add these new things then nothing would ever move on, its like the fact that the ps2 and xbox360 used dvds, this helped bring dvds into the mainstream as more people had one of those consoles than a dvd player when they first come out.

give it 6 months and the price of the xbox360 will have dropped. I dont think it will be that long before the price of hi definition is within most peoples grasp either, well when i say most people i mean adults not kids.

If HD tv's are the same price as normal TV's, which is becoming true, then everyone will have a HD tv before too long won't they.

As far as games go, you'll have to wait for the good games, just like the original xbox, the games that can out were no better than the PS.

as for MMO wars, you'll have to look to the PC market for that as Live sucks nuts IMO

Why buy a HD tv for 400 odd quid if you already have a 42" widescreen?

well for a start if you have a 42inch widescreen tv chances are you have a plasma or lcd, and thus the chances are you already have some form of hi def.
If your 42inch tv isnt hi def then its worth changing to get it because of the improvement in picture quality, think back to when dvd first come out and the difference it had over vhs.

+ plasma and lcd tv's don't last long. They start getting very dull in just a few years.

Unfortunately, i do not hav a plasma, LCD, HD tv, i have a bog standard 42" 1

Well crts cant go to 42 inch so it isnt one of those, it could be a rear projection tv but if it is i feel for you, that doesnt leave alot of options left as to what it could be.

But next time you get a nice big TV it will probably be HD, so if you have a Xbox360 than it will look nice.
