This new X3 rolling demo/benchmark is quite a good system tester. Below is the results I got with default settings:

Framerates
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Scene 00 67.6 average fps 59.0 minimum fps 102.0 maximum fps
Scene 01 41.5 average fps 18.0 minimum fps 71.0 maximum fps
Scene 02 70.9 average fps 53.0 minimum fps 103.0 maximum fps
Scene 03 74.5 average fps 52.0 minimum fps 127.0 maximum fps

Overall average framerate: 63.6 fps

Anyone else given it a try?

The min 1.0 fps thing is due to some wiered gfx bug I've been having recently in DX games, game just pauses for 20 secs, then starts up again. Very annoying.

Yours is clearly cpu bound yes. No suprising though, 3GHz has been out for some time and its not a great chip for gaming.
