ther is a slight problem with my pc. everything has been connected up, but when the power is switched on the lights on the front and the 2 fans on the power supply go on for less than a second and then cut out, none of the other fans switch on. i think something is making it cut out but have no idea what. do you have any ideas?

Disocnnect all the case fans that are powered by the motherboard and try again. Tehy are probabnly drawing too much current from it.

yeah if it works then you know its the PSU and seeing the spec's on ebay it looks like it needs a 450watt minimum

Woah, steady on.

Don't go buying anything yet, If disconnecting some fans form the motherboard fixes it, it only means that the fans draw too much current from your mainboard, it does NOT mean that your PSU is not powerful enough.

Simply plug the fans directly into the PSU a molex with an adapter if necessary, cutting the mainboard out of the equation.

To be fair, you may be able to get by without any of the fans anyway,.
