camera problem

anyone have any ideas on why when i link my camera to my pc via usb that my pc doesnt read the hardware. it used to work before and just randomly didnt read it today. any suggestions on why?

Turn the camera on?

..also make sure its on before connecting the USP, think i found my dads camera didnt work unless i did that

Could also make sure usb aint disabled

thanks for suggestions but found out after taking back to shop that the camera had screwed up..new one works a treat tho
