Just bought this Panasonic Blu-Ray player and 5.1 surround sound system but it seems to be having troubles reading Blu-Ray discs. It reads DVDs fine but keeps coming up with "cannot read disc". Sounds like it's got a defect disc reader or something. I've tried updating the firmware but to no avail.

Any ideas?

Cheers.

Gonna have to send it back then?

Should be easy to request a replacement.

You mean something holding the mechanics in place inside the unit? There's no mention of it on the unit itself or in the manual. Probably would have been a sticker on it if there were.

Pain in the arse sending it back after getting all the surround sound setup.

Yeah, it was one complete cinema system. I've e-mailed Amazon asking if I can just have a replacement player but I'm guessing they're gonna want the whole package sent back.

Yeah. Wondering if they'll notice the surround sound speaker wires missing if I leave them in place and just send back the speakers. Saves me re-wiring them round the whole room.
