Hey y'all.

So I'm getting my bonus next week (yey!) and I think I want to upgrade my old 8800GT.
I'm currently running a Q6600 Oced @3Gig, 4Gig Ram on a P5k.

I'm looking at getting an Asus 5850 for about $300. Does this seem like a good choice at the moment? Quite a bit of bang for your buck?

I'm presuming that my Q6600 will last me a bit longer seeing as it's overclocked. So if anyone has any thoughts on that also that would be helpful.

Thanks guys!

edit. Suppose I should add that I'm using a 22inch Samsung which runs 1680 x 1050 (I think). Might possibly upgrade this later for a 1920x1080 screen.

Yes the 5850 is about the best value thing around at the minute.

Prices might change somewhat once NVidia's new card arrives at the end of the month, though the speculation is that those will be like rocking horse shit and cost a LOT. Whilst not being much faster than the 5870 if at all.
