Or the actual power button itself- mine had a habit of getting stuck half in, half out, so it would sometimes turn off randomly, might be worth a look.

Dodgey Ram or Cpu can cause an issue.
is it happening when your physical ram usage is high?

Intel tend to run cool so - Idle is about 30-45 Maxed out is about 45-70
AMD always seem to run hot so- Idle 30-50 Maxed out around 80ish?
Your Motherboard, generally shuts down when the CPU gets too hot (safezone is usually 99C )
I'd check a few things (in order, so check after each step to see if its better (DO 1 AND 2 REGARDLESS)) 1. your fan is spinning (if not check wires/ get a new one if its just not working) 2. Clean your Tower and ensure hot air from your GPU is not blown into the CPU cooler. 3. Check the Fan is touching the CPU AND has some HTP on it (heat transfer paste) 4. Check your BIOS for fan speed options - and increase them (or if it has "active cooling" disable it and set the fan to run all the time?)
If all thats working and its still getting that hot I'd Improve your system cooling
Case exhaust £2-5 - Extracts hot air from the rear of the case (i haveone between my GFX and CPU to stop hot air going to the CPU) Bigger/faster CPU fan ~£10-50 - Stock fans are frankly rubish in most cases, so getting a "decent" cooler can change the idle temp by variying amounts. Case fans £1-5 - Configure them how you want - most towers have slots for 2x 120mm at the front and 2x80mm at the rear (generally you want to PULL from the front and PUSH air out the back. to keep a steady flow through the system (this also cools your overall system temp))
If its still that hot and shutting down, it could be a few things -The CPU voltage is too high causing it to generate xs heat (have you clocked it?) - Faulty Memory/GFX
Fast is fine, but accuracy is everything.
