Anyone else playing with the beta of Windows 7?
I have it triple booted on my MacBook with xp and OSX, I'm quite impressed so far, it's basically Vista with tweaks but it's nice and quick.

I'll probably throw up a VM image on Monday when I get back to work, to see how badly our software screws up on it , hopefully it will be a trivial thing to sort and it will just pick up the new UI elements, I expect it to run like a dog as our testing PC has a very low end CPU I'll let you know how i get on

I tried running it in a VM on the mac, was shitty. Runs great on the mac though if installed natively.
It seems to be pretty much vista compatible to be honest but slightly faster.

Christ, forgot what a pain a complete rebuild is, even using the easy transfer wizard it's still a nightmare

Seems a bit soon to be releasing an OS to me, Vista's only a couple of years old!

Yes but it's almost universally hated.
MS had no choice rally.

I've never had any problems with Vista, but then I'm a PC building/coding/fandangery noob.

Didn't have too many issues with Vista either but it is much slower than it should have been. 7 is much faster

I Actually had more problems with RC of Windows 7. I went back to using Vista. Not sure if it was down to a ****ed install, or bad build or what. But I had all sorts of problems with Wow crashing.

Just installed windows 7 and I am very impressed, dirt 2 runs at a solid 60 fps on max and is smooth where it ran at about 25 fps in vista and xp. Same goes for crysis and its addon.
Very fast to use, steam loads instantly and so far very impressed.
Just one question, how do I go back to the original control panel I HATE this one.

Also when I come out of a game called borderlands after playing it in coop, I lose all net connection and cannot connect to the router, mum on wireless is fine though.
Any ideas I have just downloaded new nforce drivers for my mobo and upgraded the firmware on the router, hope this helps.

I like it , runs like a deam on my kids PC which is an AMD x2 4200 with only 2Gig of Ram plus ATI HD3850 - plays DOW2 , Borderland, Prototype all at max settings ( mind you they have a 19" monitor so only 1280x1024 ) pretty bloody good considering the above mentioned spec was about minimum req for Vista

Ryan I sometimes have network issues with 7. But clicking the trouble shooter in the tray bottom right usually fixes the problem. Not sure why this happens though.

Do you both have nVidia network adapters on your motherboard?
