lol I've not read a review on yours so I can't go that far... but I just thought you saying the footprint was better was a bit weird as they're roughly the same size

Purchased the IcyBox + a pair of 360GB Seagate Barracuda's because they are quiet and cheap. Speed isn't much of an issue really for a network device. Pick it up tomorrow.

Having issues with the icybox now, quite frankly it wont; work right on a gigabit network (even though it does have a gigabit nic). Getting very annoyed with it tbh

transfer speeds on internal network to and from the nas are crap on my new gigabit router.

Like 800 kbytes/sec or less for a while then stop/pause.

Transfers between my PC and Mac through the same router are fine at 40-60 mbytes a sec+

From trawling the forums it seems like several people are having the same issue.
