Just kicked Nath off his PC for 30 mins and played TF2, suddenly realised I miss PC gaming and now pondering about getting another PC, tbh I havnt missed not having a PC for 8 months but that 30 mins just gave me the bug again :c)
Anyway is Vista worth a buy or stick with XP?
No idea on my budget either so no idea what my spec will end up like but hope to be back gaming sometime this millenia.

TF2 rocks. As I said before on msn when you asked stay with XP unless you want the pretty stuff / want to get a dx10 graphics card.

I really really like vista, its stable fast, supports dx10 and control alt delete actually works. I would say its silly to buy a pc now and not get a dx10 card, also you want to make sure u get a intel duo cpu and if possible a quad core.

Yup, don't arse about with yesterday's OS go Vista
If you only want 3gb of ram or less got with Vista 32, 4gb or more, vista 64.
I used to have a handle on life, but it broke.

I would go vista, but stay clear of the 64 bit version for a while, the drivers are not there yet, If you have a USB drive 4GB or over or a broadcom/windcom bluetooh dongle forget it they wont work the xfi making me sound like a robot my be 64 bit problem or just my setup :/

Thats without mobo and ram then scrapps eh.
I will probably do what I did last time and just buy a component each week, man its madness going from a 17" crt to a 22" widescreen LCD, this thing is HUGE.
btw would a cube still be a viable option or too much messing?

Shane - I have a very fast dual core & I paid very little for it , if you want a low down on the rig give me a shout . It scored over 3700 pints on 3DMARK06 which does not sound massive but this is with a £56 GFX card mate fast & cheap - My rig is the e4300 @ 3.19 Ghz
