What about say dual layer blueray disks, or can it only cope with single layer blueray and single layer hd-dvd. Personally I would prefer a player that can play both formats rather than a disk that can have both on.

Aye but there is no way i am using a LG product in my home cinema kit, but where one company does it others will.

Here is the lg product in question, tbh atm it is seeming more like a blueray player that can fudge hd-dvd playback. Cant say I am impressed at all by this.

does look a bit like that doesnt it ryan

maby they should just keep it simple and have half the device purley for HDdvd - with its own media drive
and the other half ballray with its own media drive

rather than botching a blue ray player to read HDDVD
