I have just bought new PC. I have been trying to run Full Spectrum Warrion PC Rom but get an error Direct 3D error Cannot Create Device. DxDiag reflect the following:

Device Name VIA/S3G Unichrome Pro
Manufaturer - VIA/S3G
Chip Type - Via/S3G Unichrome Pro IGP
DAC type Internal
Approx total memory 64mb
Current Display Model 1024x768 (60hz)
Default Monitor.

Driver

Main driver vtdisp.dll
Version 6.14.0010.0275(English)
Date 27/12/05
WHQL Logod Yes
Mini VDD vtmini.sys
VDD n/a
DDI version 9 or Higher

I have DirectX9.0c installed and it tests okay.
I use Pentium 4 with 512 RAM.

I expect this is a graphics card problem and I have a Radeon 9600 in my old PC and a spare FX5200 which the former replaced.

Is there an easy solution or should I move my Radeon 9600 into my new PC?

Anyone help/advise I'm gameless at present and resisting the urge to buy another game incase I come across the same problem.

Cheers

Bertie

The integrated gfx card in your new pc is not very good, I suspect the 9600 will be miles better.

But you could try updated all the drivers for the VIA motherboard and gfx card, that driver is VERY old.

I used to have a handle on life, but it broke.

Cheers Mani. I'll give both options a go but suspect your initial suggestion will be best.

Thanks again.
