Norton is nothing but bloatware in my experience. I happen to use AntiVir Guard and it's never let me down, but then I don't download the sort of stuff that's likely to be infected ;o http://www.free-av.com/

I use AGV & its good but I run the Web bases PC Cillin tool "House Call" every couple of weeks & it has over the past couple of years detected only two down loaders which had slipped past AGV . AGV did actually detect them or their clones in my restore directories but on each occasion it was a few days after they had been cleansed by PC-Cillin . I have down loaded the MS key scrambler guys which is FOC on the MS site to add another layer of security to Windows Defender ( I also use Spybot search & destroy on my stageing rig). I agree with Malis on Norton / Symantec in that they are both full of crap which simply hogs resources.

I use AVG and have done for years with no problems and I love how fast it is too. Re0s just install firefox with adblock v.5 and you'll have no popups. It'll even keep itself updated to stop new ads
