Qucky, being a bit of a nub with SLI i have a BFG GTX 7900 512MB if i wanted to add another card to sli them, does it have to be identical card? say if i bought a BFG GS 7900 256MB, would i be able to SLI them? i know it would be better for cards to be identical, but would above work ok? would i get the extra benifit from the 2nd card even though it isnt as good as the 1st one? also just ordered bf2 deluxe and pre ordered Dark messiah  gimme some ips for bf2 please

It has to be the same spec card. To avoid any problems I'd go with the same make and model.

Not sure it has to be the same make, but it has to have same amount of ram and be same chip as far as I know.
So youll need another 7900gtx 512mb
I used to have a handle on life, but it broke.

bf2 has a built in server browser and most ppl only ever play on ranked servers
I used to have a handle on life, but it broke.

whats a ranked server? what patches will i need mani, just 1.4? do u lot not play on regular servers? see us CSS players have a nice community where we all play on same servers  so BF2 ppl are just slags who wander around and play anywhere?

Well the trouble with BF2 is:
a) it takes a comparatively long time to join servers compared to any other online game I've played.
b) BF2 has probably the worst serevr browser I've ever used. It's slow, laggy, likes to suddenly lose all your favourites until you relog in, and is a general pain in the ass.
c) Unlike Steam it has no built in friends tracker.
The combination of all of these means I tend to just join the first server with spaces I can find, too much hassle to spend any longer looking.

You get medals for things on ranked servers, like 7 kills in one round as a medic or something.
We tend to get on vent, then choose a server together

i asked the guy down at my local Computer shop about the sli when i upgraded to the 7600GS, he said they have to be the same....so i bought a second card, well worth it in the end

I aint impressed with my sli tbh, four outputs and how many can I use THATS RIGHT ONE !!
But aye it has to be a identical spec card and better to use the same make as well, better to be safe than sorry.
