I've got a sapphire 128MB ATI radeon 9600. Bought it about 3 odd years ago for £100, it's now about £50 on the net. Is it worth upgrading to a geforce 6600GT 128MB? £90 odd on the net now.
What do you reckon?
Cheers.

I did it and yes it makes a very significant difference. Not the fastest card about but it's a lot better than the 9600. I'd say go for it.

aye i went from a 9250 [256] to a 9700 pro [128] to the 6600GT and i noticed a significant improvment in each of the cards to the previous cards performance. although i would personally save a bit longer and get a much better card [in the £150+ range]
Fast is fine, but accuracy is everything.

My mate's keeping the card for himself now.
Do you think it's worth buying a better AGP card and a faster CPU to say 3600+ AMD or just save longer and get PCI-E, dual-core processors, etc?

I'd suggest save longer then. It'll be worth the wait.

Okay, nice one, ta. I'll try and save a couple grand then and go for a full system upgrade somewhere down the line, lol.
