Yes there are still a great number of free distributions.

http://www.linux.org and go to distributions, debian seems quite a popular one atm.

Not right now, though I've been running the freely installable version of Suse and also Fedora recently.

Both were ok but I still had a few driver issues, which is pretty much standard for linux if you have new hardware.

Suse can be installed across the net for free, though you can't download it.

Fedora is downloadable, as are many , many others.

Unless you know linux quite well, I wouldn't go near Debian.

If your'e a linux beginner, stick to Fedora, Suse or particularly Mandrake.

It's well worth a try m8.

But tbh, so many thing we do all the time require windows, and swapping in and out of OS's is a PITA

Until I can afford a second PC, I'm not instaling it again.

hehe i run a 80Gb suse 8.1pro partition on this

got the box'es and sh*t "some how my dad got the suse dealership for yorkshire but he hasent started dirstobuting yet "

i would back up mani's dont toutch debian unless you know what your doing

its cmd line so its a pain in the arse.. works fine on servers tho...

suse mandrake and "winux when released" are the best gui versions of linux

i would recomend suse cos it has least driver issues tho

when i get my laptop that will run on suse or redhat permanatly maby even debian or maby i should wait till i get a lease line " hehe found out that ntl do a 8 - 34mb lease line tru there back bone so i might pursuade father to get a 8mbit line "

And dont get too arogant on forums either, as thats probably one of the main things that aint welcome around here. Being arogant when your the best in the world is bad enough, but displaying such an attitude when weve just been conceived is bordering on idiotic.

Hehe, you are crazy, I think I'll leave the Crazy Fool tag for a while.

Anyway, as Mork says, don't be winding up other clans, we want to be a friendly bunch don't we?

Nothing against leaving messages for other clans we are about to play, as long as it's in the right spirit.
