2.4 ghz 1.5gig ram ddr gforcefx5300 bf2 plays like doodoo

I have a 2.4 Ghz pentium4 1.5 gig ddr ram and a 256mb nvidia ge force fx 5300 and i have to play bf2 on low-medium res. Otherwise it gets really choppy, anyone else spend alot of money and still get crappy performance from the games?

A GeForce 5300 is a bit slow for BF2 really, that CPU is quite old too. Time for an upgrade?

its not too bad i just like to play my games at full res. however not on this system

I would say upgrading the CPU and GFX card should help a lot.

GF6600's are quite cheap?

Yep that would do nice , its the little bro of mine and Mani's card
(6800GT) plays it smooth on mid

A 6800GS would be a MAJOR improvement over 5300 yes.
